Raimundo Cicero Arteche Street

Raimundo Cicero Arteche was born in Santander, Cantabria  and he lived for many years in the city of Madrid because of his military profession. He founded "La Casa de la Montaña" in Madrid.

Raimundo  visited Torrelavega every summer during the month of August. He helped his neighbors in economic, military and social problems, and this is why his friends and neighbors sent a lettter to the council on the 31th of March in 1971 requesting a street in his honor.

The Committee of Culture and the mayor, Jesús Collado Soto, met on the 6th of May of 1971 and put the name of Don Raimundo Cicero Arteche to a street wich is between Joaquín Cayón and Avenida Calvo Sotelo streers.
