Casimiro Sainz Street


He was a painter known for his landscapes interior scenes. He was the youngest of 10 siblings.
  At 11 months of birth his mother died of cholera.  At thirteen, he was sent to Madrid to work in the grocery business of his brother. Where to get the first classes of drawings. But is unable to work and returns to Matamorosa.

Thanks to a grant from council returns to Madrid to study at the School of Fine Arts.
Return to Madrid in 1885 to settle in the house of his brother. On February 21, 1890 and revenue fell ill in the psychiatric hospital. One of his most important works is rest, (third-class medal at the National Exhibition of 1876) that plays a corner of the studio with a model and a painter. In 1898 Casimiro Sainz died from the infection in his leg.

In 1903 the city of Torrelavega inaugurated a street named for the service he rendered to the City.
